3 DAYS IN THE HEART OF THE CHACO

 
 The Chaco – 3-days

Day 01
IIn the morning we will start our journey to the UNEXPECTED, the PARAGUAYAN CHACO. On the way we will see an enormous variety of native FLORA and the life of the FAUNA will amaze us. Indian villages are part of the roadside of the highway as well as the PAI PUCÚ School, built of palms. Impressed by the extension of this part of the Paraguayan Chaco, approximately at noon we will arrive at the FLORIDA HOTEL, about 400 Kms from Asunción. There we will check in for the next two nights (or similar in Filadelfia or surroundings). After having a little rest, we will visit BOQUERON* (base during the war against Bolivia) and if time allows, YALVE SANGA* (Indian village).

Day 02
After breakfast, we will visit FILADELFIA and LOMA PLATA, the main cities of the prosperous MENNONITE colonies. There we will see museums, industries, commerce, etc. Then we will visit LAGUNA CAPITAN (model cattle farm) and ISLA POI* (base during the war with Bolivia), LAGUNA SALADA*, LAGUNA FLAMENCO* and finally we return to the hotel.

Day 03
Breakfast and visit to the NEULAND colony and its surroundings. After lunch we will return to Asuncion.

NOTE: Places marked with the symbol * cannot be visited in days of heavy rain.

Millions of birds...

Millions of birds of different specimen, mammals, marsupials reptiles and an infinite fish population are witnesses of an unperturbed ecological system. To appreciate such abundant natural resources it is absolutely necessary to approach to the sites where you can still observe wild animals by car.

In the PANTANAL the animals, which elsewhere in the world You will find only as singular individuals in some zoological gardens, are not shy at all because they did not learn to fear the humans who harmed them on other places in the world.
